is carrying forward a tradition reminiscent of the rich Awadhi culture
and fine craftsmanship of Lucknow. Lucknow is the birthplace of several
unique art forms like aari-zardozi, chickanwork, woodwork and many
other. Musical Instruments making is one these art forms that contribute
to the history of art and culture in region. Historically, Lucknow
stands alongside Miraj as the leading manufacturer of highest quality
instruments. Overtime, due to economic shift in this region and lack of
promotion, this unique art could not bloom further and started to die.
SwarGram in its endeavour to bring the rich Lucknow tradition in musical instruments manufacturing to global platform, formed a consortium of veteran artisans, who worked with SwarGram to formulate a process that involves traditional methods clubbed with modern techniques of production to give the world the most musical of instruments. SwarGram heads this consortium as managers and operators to ensure that the products are manufactured to meet global standards of production, packaging, delivery and customer care. SwarGram has taught the principals of modern day quality control to all the members of the consortium. All artisans who are members of this consortium are partner members. Apart form manufacturing and selling musical instruments, the SwarGram has also taken up the smart task of training younger generation of these artisans, who were pursuing alternative careers due to lack of commercial success in this field. We are training and inculcating entrepreneur skills in these young artists. Yes, Lucknow has arrived. |
