Overview:  

Distance Learning Courses for Indian Classical Music - Vocal (Khayal Gayaki) are available for all nine Grades. The modules are based on the approved Grades Curriculum. Below is a brief description of what each grade has to offer.
 

GRADES ONE, TWO, THREE

DISTANCE LEARNING STUDY MODULES AVAILABLE:
GRADE ONE AND TWO ($210)
GRADE THREE ($210)

Grades 1 to 3 are the formative grades designed to build a firm foundation to take up greater challenges in your Intermediate Grades. Building the vocals through Voice Training techniques - Level 1, through swar saadhana and alankars. Grade 2 introduces you to Raags Bilawal, Yaman, Bhairav, Kafi and Khamaj, chhota khayals and basic rendering techniques. The module contains dedicated exercises for the 4 vikrit notes and teevra madhyam.

 

GRADES FOUR, FIVE, SIX

Grades 4 to 6 are intermediate grades. Through these grades you learn the intricacies of Indian Classical Music and builds your understanding of this art form to a level where you connect with it effortlessly. Through these stages you take up intermediate level voice training to render classical music with most of the embellishments, where you learn swar vistar, alaapkari and other rendering techniques.

 

GRADES SEVEN, EIGHT, NINE

Grades 7 to 9 are professional levels, where you learn finer aspects of rendering the raags.  Through these grades the student takes on a journey to explore the intricacies of Indian Classical Music and attains maturity on the way in form of advanced vocal techniques, enhanced understanding of the classical system and the depth of the raag characteristic.
