Distance Learning modules are available for Grades One and Two.
 

This course teaches you the rudiments of playing techniques of tabla. You may not have any knowledge of tabla or Indian music to take up this course. In this course we start from the very basic and teach you to play tabla methodically through unique teaching style. The rudiments are covered in great detail in extreme close-up videos with emphasis on correct technique of playing and producing just the right sound. You also learn to play teentaal, jhaptaal,  ektaal in classical styles and also keharva and dadra in this course, along with kaydas, tukdas, relas with palta and tihais of each. At the end of this course you are no longer a shaky beginner, but a confident and motivated student of tabla.
 

In Grade 2 you build on the skills which you have acquired in Grade 1. In this course you refine your skills of all the taals learned in Grade One by playing with improved technique and increased speed. You learn variations of the taals, kayda and rela of tirkit, mukhras, more tukdas and damdaar tihais of each. By the end of this course you have developed enough self-belief to take up higher learning of tabla.

Students taking up Distance Learning Study can appear for Grade examinations like any other student.
